______ Viper stalks the palace, vermillion stomach-scales drawing dangerously close to the smooth stone underneath. Tongue flicking frantically and eyes narrowing to form a scowl she greets the dragons she meets in her own unique way. Heavy wings drag beside her. She has been confined to this lair for as long as she could remember and sometimes she just stared at the blue sky.

______ Although born with the capabilities to use arcane magic she never felt the need to, rather she would tinker with any machine she could get her hands on away in her lair. Careful claws probing and adjusting for hours on end to get anything to work. However the stiff golden ends of her wings were not her doing but instead caused by an accident. A cruel prank by someone she is still searching for that has since left her completely flightless and that attached her most hated color to her own body. Along with harmless creations, she creates machines to try and get revenge on whoever pulled that stupid prank on her.

______ She considers her creations her true friends, she probably talks more to her mechanical bird than to any other dragon. Even before the prank she was grumpy, but the incident worsened her mood to a point where she drew away from even her closest friends and previous mate BloodRuby. While she obliges to requests from those higher up, she would rather be left alone most of the time, scheming new inventions and secret cruel plots.

______ Viper remembers that fated day vividly. In fact she remembers it every day. Every time she sits at her scrolled out papers. It was bright (gross) and warm (even worse) and she for some absolutely illogical, stupid reason decided to go outside. Out of the palace, out of the safety of her own secluded room. Her amazing bird Aki was not there that day, she had created that fine creature perhaps a month or so afterwards, after that she could not think of a day without him.

______ The one thing she did not remember was the faces of those around her. There were mirrors. But mirrors were everywhere in this clan, she definitely could not accuse all of them, as that would include the royal family. Or perhaps that guardian, nocturne now, he liked gold. No, a guard who knew the queen personally was also out of the question. There was magic, she was sure of it. Dirty, useless magic that changed her whole life for the worse.

______ Here she now lays on top of layers upon layers of parchment. Claws dirtied by the charcoal. It was a mirror, perhaps black or dark blue that was the culprit, she was sure of it. For now she had to rest her racing mind, a mind that would not stop no matter what she did to calm herself. She knew she had to keep going, it was right in front of her, the answer to all her woes.
