______ Darkness crept through the forest, the day sky barely visible through the almost black leaves. Shadow looked at his clan with a wave of content. His scales changed pattern throughout the years, along with the clan. Many came and left, but a few stayed loyal. A retired king, his claws now sickly green as the virus has consumed him. His clan is fierce and stubborn. The infected warrior now rests in silence with the whispers from Eldritch filling the obsidian-black room.

______ ShadowHeart relies on brute strength and his intimidating appearance to get by in life. He has learned to fend for himself after years of cowering in the shadows of others and has purposefully embraced the blessings of Plaguebringer and learned to use them to his advantage. Claws and fangs radiate a bright green, if the scratch does not fatally wound a dragon, the infection will.

______ Shadow has many connections inside the clan. Being friendly with most people that call themselves part of clan Rotting Rose, however with most dragons he simply is acquainted rather than a friend. The only ones he calls friends are those that were there since the beginning. BloodRuby is one of his best friends and he enjoys a lot of his off-time with the ex-king. Eldritch is even closer to him than BloodRuby, being the only one in the world to enjoy her soft voice.

______ There he was, a dragon alone in the outskirts of Shadowbinder’s domain, not a piece of gold or a gem to his name. There was one other. A green and red Guardian who had wandered long in her search happened to stumble upon this place. Although she felt this was not the end of her search, she decided to rest with him for a while. It was a small clan without much direction but it was theirs. The leaves shook above them, wings blotted out the already little sunlight that penetrated the canopy. Glassy eyes of a huge wolf stared at them, golden-red scales descended in a flurry. A dragon bigger than either of them could ever imagine swooped.

______ A wound twisted around his leg, he panted and heaved but ultimately succumbed to the pain right in the middle of the clearing. Neither of them knew much about wounds but they did their best and it did seem to help. Honestly most of what Shadow did he had no idea if he was doing it right, but he kept on pushing, just trying to make things work. This stranger somehow made all the difference. A warrior through and through yet a compassionate leader. He was meant to become king and Shadow did not mind. He knew he would have to disassociate himself from the clan and the stress that came along with it.

______ He had little say in the events after BloodRuby’s crowning. The imperial too grew old and relinquished it to a guardian. Her scales, pure black, strange mechanical markings pulsating in the darkness of their lair. Many things changed after that but if he were asked about his feelings about it, he would be honest and simply say, “I don’t care.”
