Biography

Still intensely traumatized by the Civil War and the shocking number of dragons who refused to follow Arietna to the Second Departure, Aeja nurses a broken heart through the drudgery of their day to day life. As grateful as they are to have Sarang by their side, and as glad as they are to have met dragons like Cabra after settling into their new world, they can’t help but miss some of the former Spirits who had forsaken the clan. They claim to use this pain to fuel their art, despite the fact that their ‘art’ involves processing raw produce into wines, jams, and other refined food products. Sometimes, other dragons swear they can taste the melancholy among their strawberry preserves, but no one knows if it’s truly the empathic impact or if it’s Aeja’s insistence that art is fueled by pain. One day, they think. One day, they will stop hurting. One day, no one will be able to hurt them anymore. One day, they will stop waking up shaking and sobbing. One day, the heart that breaks so easily will learn to appreciate how easily and how freely they love. One day, they will be forgiven for not being able to let go of what could have been. |

Pana is the light in Aeja’s day when Sarang isn’t around. As Aeja’s divine companion, Pana cheers up the dragon as often as they can, and keeps watch when they and Sarang curl up to sleep. They bob along with the coatl and can always be seen whenever Aeja decides to just float around wherever the breeze takes them. |

Sweet, tart, crisp, soft, and red, the strawberry is by far Aeja’s favorite fruit. With its versatility in processing and its mythos as an aphrodisiac, it often makes up the bulk of their best products. Aeja will sometimes sneak strawberries to snack on as they work, with the hopes that the strawberries might induce an infatuation in them that won’t break their heart. |
