The Coopmaster

“We will be everything that we'd ever need”

Yeong may be the best at getting the hatchlings excited, but Sarang is by far the best at settling them down to sleep. As the Coopmaster, she has practice in settling restless coop animals down for the night, and she takes joy in putting her skills to use for the clan’s babies as well. Much like many clan members, her title doesn’t necessarily mean that she is the sole provider of a service. Although clan members work collectively to tend to the gardens and farms, she finds her happiness in taking care of chickens, ducks, rabbits, and any other coop animals in the clan.

Whenever anyone asks, she tells them she loves her job most because she loves how soft her animals are. With a childlike obsession with all that is soft and fluffy, she can often be seen cleaning and gathering spare down and fluff to pass to Lacey, to see if she can knit and stuff plushies and pillows for everyone.

That love of fluff extends to dragons, as well. Sarang can often be seen snuggling with the gaolers in the clan, particularly Danpung. She loves curling up on the gaoler’s back, around the shardspines, and taking naps while Danpung makes her rounds as the clan’s Doctor. Her contentment with life in the clan sets an example for those still nursing open emotional wounds from the Civil War and the Second Departure.

Important Items

Even with Sarang’s dragon snuggle buddy and all the animals in her care, her favorite cuddle buddy will always be her divine companion, Fooffe. With adorable tiny wings and a squishy, foofy body the perfect round shape for cuddling, Fooffe often nestles their head on Sarang’s neck, or the place where her neck and wing meet.

One of the species of chicken raised in the clan’s coops. Sarang loves the juxtaposition between the chicken’s cute fluffiness and plucky nerve and usually flies around with one in tow every morning while she checks on the chicken coops. If anyone happens to see her and say hi, she’ll usually hoist the chicken onto the poor schmuck and squeal about how much chickens love to cuddle.

The tortured non-artist Artisan. They take refuge in Sarang’s snuggles when their trauma gets the better of them, and they take comfort in pulling her closer when they wake up from nightmares. Her gentle warmth and childish wonder keep them from falling into despair, and her commitment to making sure they know that they’re loved means the world to them.

The softhearted (and soft-fluffed) clan Doctor. She forgets her loneliness whenever she’s with Sarang, and always enjoys having the nocturne literally on her back, though anyone unfamiliar with their wordplay may think otherwise upon hearing her tell Sarang to get off her back. On days when there are fewer dragons to tend to, she lies down and lets Sarang squish her toe beans.
