Daeni
The Naturalist

If you asked Daeni what her role in the clan was, she would tell you that she's the resident biologist. Approach anyone else, and they'll say she's just a weirdo who collects bones, furs and live specimens that she considers her pets. Her favourite animals are birds, and she has spent decades studying their biology, habitats and behavior to the point where she can identify almost any species by their calls alone. Most are shocked by her knowledge of the natural world, but only because she doesn't seem to know about literally anything else. She struggles to follow basic instructions and most times fails to perform simple tasks. While she does have some mechanical skills, she wholly devotes herself to biological science and the Flamecaller, and all other things just aren't as interesting.

Overly sarcastic but possessing a well-loved sense of humor, Daeni is quite wild at heart, preferring to do and say what she wants regardless of the situation. First impressions often leave others believing she is kind and generous, but when insulted or offended she can become frighteningly cruel and bitter, sometimes needing months to cool her temper. She's also quite crude in reality, with a very foul mouth that usually gets her into trouble, but would prefer not to socialize at all and be left to her studies in her den. She really only enjoys being with her best friend Llanval or her mate, Alna, and often refuses to go anywhere without at least one of them. The tundra and snapper are inseparable and deeply in love, even after many years, and the sound of Alna screeching with laughter as Daeni pins him down and attacks his ticklish flanks can be heard echoing through the lair almost every day.
