The old tundra is known as a Master in an ancient fighting style, one where the movements of an enemy are deflected and used against them in an impressive dance of motion. Outside of battle, however, no one would know of his expertise. Alna is staunchly non-violent, never showing off by picking fights or trying to appear brave by starting them. He is humble in all things, and strongly believes that in daily life one's mind and body must be trained and developed in a spirit of humility. While he does sometimes train the clan's hatchlings in this art, the lessons often go well beyond the self-defence applications.

Being a picky eater in a land of lava, ash and obsidian might be a poor survival tactic, but it's unfortunately Alna's nature. Food just has very little appeal to him, and the handful of meals he can tolerate can only be prepared in his own way, which frustrates his mate Daeni (who loves to eat anything and everything) and the clan chef, Essan, to no end. It also causes him to have terrible flatulence, which is legendary for it's thunder. He is the only one in the lair to have become interested in the Ice's Flight's competitive sport of hockey, and happily travels great distances to watch his favourite team, the Cobalt Fronds. They haven't won the Season Chalice in over forty years, but he's still a diehard fan and proudly wears their colours.
