Biography
You notice a Mirror stalking around the reception area. He seems to be stalking lights and shadows like a cat. You wonder why... perhaps he's bored. It seems calm enough around here that he's hardly ever needed to really perform "guard duty" in order to keep someone from entering their villiage. However, it doesn't take long for him to notice you.

"Hey there, you must be new around here! It's nice to see a visitor. So what are you here for? To see the Council or to roam the village? There's a lot of places around here to check out." He begins to rattle off. You wonder for a minute if this guy may not have some Spiral blood in his lineage somewhere. "I don't get to do very much work here. Everyone seems so calm and nice, which makes guard duty so boring. I love it when I'm on training rotation and can go on outings with trainees. I help the general prepare our troops for dominance battles. We've participated in a bunch and have plenty of badges of honor to show for it, you wanna see?" Suddenly he pulls a rolled up sash out of nowhere and rolls it out so you can see all of his shiny badges. |

BIOGRAPHY
Even though it doesn't seem possible with how young the guard looks and acts, Angmar is actually one of the oldest dragons in the clan, having been around since the Old Kingdom. He was merely a teen when the Catastrophe happened, and he escaped with Thamadi's most trusted friends and allies, having had strong ties with the new General, Smiles. It was almost as if he were more a little brother (and still is) to Smiles and the others rather than being a subordinate. Angmar graciously fell into the role of being the High Council's "Little Brother." Even though he's mainly a guard, every once in a while he steals into the High Council's chambers and offices to play some practical jokes, never bearing the consequences for his actions. His worst punishment for disrupting the work of the council is to merely be place on guard duty in Starspire Bastion's lobby, which in turn just gives him more opportunities to play pranks on his higher ups, much to the chagrin of any visitors he may end up escorting. Even with his antics, Angmar is warmly regarded by the clan and holds the rank of Lieutenant. Dragons often flock to him when they need help or if a crime's been committed, as he's dedicated to his job as a guard within the clan. And after the crisis has been averted, Angmar is the first to pick up the pieces, to help others smile again. While Smiles is the head of the guard an military, Angmar is the trusted right hand man and the face of what the guard stands for. When the Clan of the Lapidia became well enough again to begin deploying troops for the Wars of Dominance, Angmar was more than ready to take his place by Smiles' and Thamadi's sides to help train the new troops and deploy them for battle. While he's not nearly as strong as his superiors, he has a mind for tactics and training - something invaluable for the growing clan despite their peaceful ways outside of the Flight's conquests. But this passionate mind also held sentiment - the past haunted Angmar. The Catastrophe had devastated him. They'd lost everything, Angmar lost his family. Even with Thamadi and the others surrounding him in the early days of the rebuilding, acting as his pack, Angmar felt so alone and scared - scared that whatever had originally tried to destroy them would come again to finish them off. So when Smiles began getting awarded badges from the Arcanist's officials for their efforts, Angmar felt hope for the first time since the fall of the Old Kingdom. He had been offended when Smiles shrugged them off, saying the badges and rewards weren't important and that the clan was doing it's duty as a devout clan under the Arcanist. Angmar decided that just wouldn't do, and whenever Smiles carelessly left a badge out on the desk after a battle effort, ignoring it and allowing it to collect dust, Angmar would swipe it and store it on his sash to keep it safe. He would talk to anyone about their achievements whenever he could. Angmar craved, needed, the hope they represented. Hope that they were rebuilding. Hope that they were flourishing. Hope that they would one day achieve the glory of the Old Kingdom. A dragon devout, a guard loyal, a friend forever. This is what Angmar is.
