Annashi left her clan when she was young, before her Search even began. Her own mother had been a less-than-stellar parent, and Annashi vowed that any hatchlings she may come to care for would have completely different lives. She wandered alone for many years, wary of all others.

It was many years later that she found herself grounded during a terrible storm, taking shelter with a troupe of spirals. Amongst the spirals was a young pearlcatcher hatchling, who darted and flitted through the squalls the same as them. None of the spirals however seemed to watch the hatchling, and after several days the storm cleared, and Annashi stayed with the troupe, watching over the orphan pearlcatcher.

Eventually Shannara became bored of travelling with the spirals, and set off on her own, with Annashi sticking close. Nashi wanted to protect the smaller dragon, but she also didn’t want to stifle her boundless curiosity, and so they wandered across Sorienth until Shannara was a young adult, before they finally settled in the Starwood Stand.
