Some dragons are of the opinion that apparel is merely a nuisance, and rarely wear anything other than armour. Others are none too particular, wearing whatever is available. Others enjoy coordinating their clothing, creating unique and interesting outfits. Still others view fashionable apparel as a basic necessity of life.

It isn't difficult to infer Dolce's stance on the issue.

The Bogsneak spent his youth apprenticed to a tailor, but none of the clothing that he created ever satisfied his desire for true beauty. No, what truly fascinated him were the patterns of his fellow dragons’ scales. New patterns evolved seemingly constantly, and were unique to each dragon.

Such beauty could not easily be captured – after all, there was no way for a dragon to change the pattern of their own scales – but Dolce devised a morbidly creative solution. The Bogsneak began to murder beautiful dragons in the name of his art, creating apparel from their scales and hides.

He kept his activities secret until he had completed his first collection. Then, he promptly quit his apprenticeship. He knew that none of his unique apparel could be sold to the dragons of his own clan – they were far too moral and law-abiding. Instead, he traveled south to Plague territories, searching for monsters who would be eager to wear his creations.

What Dolce found were brutes, violent and hideous, completely ignorant of fashion. They were willing to pay, of course, but they were not nearly the glamorous models that he had envisioned. Discouraged but not dissuaded, the Bogsneak used his newly acquired funds to travel Sornieth, working all the while to create and sell increasingly elaborate apparel.

Dolce’s infamy steadily grew, and he made many influential underworld connections, which he drew upon often while in search of evil clans that might appreciate his wares. There was quite the market, if only one knew where to look. Needless to say, business was thriving, and the Bogsneak quickly became unreasonably affluent.

One such connection led him to the Unrepentant Clan. His timing was fortuitous, as the clan’s summer festival was about to begin. Renting himself a stall, Dolce sold every last piece of his latest collection within mere hours - hundreds of evil dragons had been drawn to the festivities, and many had possessed considerable wealth.

He realized that the Clan of Second Chances was a hub for the most monstrous dragons in Sornieth. Not only was the clan itself vast and wealthy, their territory also served as a trading post and rest stop for monsters from all across the region. Seeing the potential for excellent sales, Dolce petitioned to join the clan, and after some heated arguments regarding taxation rates, the Bogsneak was granted permission to establish a permanent boutique.

His creations are of the highest quality, greatly admired by his fellow monsters. Each piece is unique, requiring him to hunt down the perfect victim – and as such, they command a high price. Though the average Unrepentant dragon cannot dream of affording his fashions, the clan’s key players are frequent patrons. The cruel beauty Hoarfrost has commissioned several bespoke pieces over the past few years, and has recently placed an order for an elaborate piece that will be a gift for her equally vain and fashionable mate.

Despite the nature of his business, Dolce sees no value whatsoever in Chloe. Though she may have been purpose bred for beauty, the Bogsneak is of the opinion that she is hideous. In fact, he finds it pitiful that any dragon could be so grossly misled as to the value of their appearance. Chloe is useless to him, and as such is completely safe from his attentions.

The Bogsneak’s affluent lifestyle has made him truly self-indulgent creature, seeking pleasure in every luxury that he can afford. One notable weakness is his love of fine cuisine – and his overindulgence has had logical consequences. Dolce loathes any insinuation that he’s becoming fat, even as he constantly tailors new apparel to suit his growing frame. His latest garment is striped, in a fashion that he believes to be slimming – not that it will help for long.

Surprisingly, it should be noted that Dolce utterly loathes Landslide – though the Tundra is a similarly self-indulgent monster, the Bogsneak is of the opinion that he is merely a common glutton, an uncouth hog content to gorge himself on the inferior foods of the lower class.

Dolce’s boutique has established a remarkable reputation, drawing far-flung customers and making consistently successful sales. Attributing his success to his location, the Bogsneak is content to remain with the Clan of Second Chances. The clan’s treasury is likewise content to have him, their coffers filling steadily with tax revenue from the sales of his apparel.

As long as there are dragons who seek fashionable apparel, the tailors of Sornieth will be successful and wealthy. As long as there are monsters who seek fashionable apparel, so too will Dolce.
