VITRAL
The second Glass Walker

Crinkle, crinkle. There's a friendly smile shining at you from underneath a thousand of glass shards. What a lightshow he is when he walks.

You need to take extreme care when creating golems - you wouldn't want them to get sentient, would you?

Unfortunately (for them), one ambitious arcane wizard and a fire glassmaker didn't do that as they just wanted to make a profit. They made one golem.

They made a second one. But he wasn't good enough (and unnerved them by just how... Dragon-like he acted at times, actually). Sure, he was better than the prototype, but it wasn't enough. And until you sell, you need all the material you can get. The logical conclusion? Break the second one down and re-use it.

Except the first, very sentient golem, wouldn't let them do that. She wouldn't. She would never let anyone hurt him.

And so they ended up being alone. Your creators can't exactly control your life when they're dead.

But they were much happier travelling together, figuring out themselves out at their own pace, anyways.

The first two Glass Walkers.

Golems made entirely out of glass. What good things can that bring? They must be extremely easy to break.

That assumption would be wrong. Thanks to the fact that the glass has magic constantly flowing through it, it's become unbelievably sturdy, matching the durability of steel.

Glass Walkers function purely on the environment's magic. They don't need any food or water, but probably would cease functioning rather quickly, should the environment be deprived of magic. Thankfully, Sornieth's atmosphere is so chock-full of magic, this isn't something that could threaten them by accident.

While Glass Walkers don't have their own magic (apart a tiny amount that settles in their eyes when they're created), they're incredibly adept at channeling magic around them. Are you in a lab full of equipment running on lightning magic? You might very well get zapped. Thanks to Sonrieth's nature, this means that they have practically unlimited access to power they can tap onto, if they know how to handle it.

They also have the ability to break their wings into their segments and control each of the shards separately, which can get used both as a breathtaking display of beauty and a deadly collection of weapons.

Vitral, while technically being the same type of golem that Rozeta is, couldn't really be further away with his personality. He's friendly, bubbly, kind, and incredibly talkative. He seems trusting, but don't be fooled, he is as dangerous as Rozeta is, if not more. He just hides it well, and his emotions don't roll off his magic in the same way her tend to do.

He also has incredibly incredibly wide and obvious body languages. Perhaps even a little bit over-the-top, if you will. Whether it's always genuine is a different, much harder problem to crack.

He has memory issues, and frequently forgets names and important information, but they make up for it with his quick thinking and Rozeta's memory. Although it still can be quite jarring when you meet him after a month and he doesn't seem to recognize you, at all. His satchel houses a collection of journals and notebooks, just give him a second, he'll figure out who you are if he manages to find the right one.

Vitral has the drive to learn, to create. But he won't make the mistake of not treating his creations with the respect they deserve.
