Biography

Jadrian
He/him | Retired Oracle
Mate: N/A

list for remembering purposes GO!!!
  • Was an oracle affiliated with [redacted] who left as he foretold the disappearance/demise of Caelum. Fearful of the civil war that would follow, he took off across the sea and now hides out in the Worldedge Wetlands
  • now he's just a humble old man who has claimed a small wetland grotto as his home, isolated from yet politely acquainted with the nearby nature clans
  • said nearby clans are also at least somewhat aware of his precognition, and many will seek him out to have their futures - or the futures of their clans - told. he is usually unhelpful in that regard, though, because he has little interest in doing any of that oracle business again.
  • harbors a sense of guilt for his cowardice that's been worsening as the years pass and he has lost all connections to his home. He knows what happened to them, and it destroys him thinking he could have prevented it if he hadn't run away
  • yet... the water here soothes him. the pool he's claimed whispers comforting words to him. he's not sure if it's a side effect of his prophetic abilities or if it's the pool itself manifesting a voice. or if he's just losing it as he ages. but it's... it's relieving. it's even mildly alleviating. and he appreciates it.

"Have you ever looked into the algae-filled waters of that pond?
What awaits you in those murky depths, I wonder?"

Dwelling in the depths of a forest pond, behind curtains of lichen, Jadrian lives a quiet, happy life.

Occasionally, he receives visitors. Curious, inquisitive dragons wondering what lies beneath the emerald water. That's when he surfaces, happily inviting them in for a swim. Though they never stay long, he never worries when they leave as he knows the next visitor is never far behind.

Though, sometimes, on hot summer nights, when the pool is a little clearer than normal and he can almost see his reflection in it, he could almost swear it speaks to him. And sometimes it does.

Why does it do that, he wonders. For what purpose?
