I suppose that the Cackling Crow is more comfortable than the hole I had in the Viridian Labyrinth, but it’s no palace either. The innkeeper, Privet, keeps holding these game nights for the entirety of Clan Barberry and I can’t sleep even on the quietest of nights.

Unfortunately, I can’t complain for several compelling reasons:

-I’m basically her hostage
-She’s mated to the Clan Leader
-She brings me food
-I’m tired

Even so, I wish she would at least discipline her children. Her son, and her daughter especially, misbehave in my classroom horribly and she expects them to emerge as literate as a college graduate anyway. She says that their behavior is normal.

No, her behavior isn’t normal. In fact, if she brings me any more raw meat for dinner, I might just complain anyway.
