Biography
Alpha Muishikina Clan Founder; Organiser he/him; they/them Nonbinary; Bisexual Let not his flowery appearance fool you, for Alpha is a tricky dragon. His emotional over-expressions mask a careful and practical being struggling to feel much of anything. When one stares into scrying prisms for too long, basks themselves in the light of what once was and what could be, one loses everything they thought they were and knew to be true. |
He manages clan decisions, monitors all aspects of all activities, with an eerily-accurate foresight; and few are so lucky as to ever see him. Hatchlings in the groves tell tales as if he were naught but a spectre, that he receives premonitions and future visions as if reading the Tidelord's currents. Some pose that he doesn't simply see the future but rather lives it. Still yet more conspiratorial dragons jest that he doesn't exist at all, merely a fictitious figure crafted by the other clanheads to keep the others in line.
It is only the other Directors, after all, that ever hold audience with him, and their lips are often sealed. They know of the visions he once had when he was younger, and they know that over time he has become those visions themselves. One would be terribly unwise to cross him, for his knowledge is vast and his vengeance is hungry. |

Not every dragon believed in fate. Some didn’t even care much for the central tenets of draconic existence; for loyalty to clan, to hoard, and to the Gods. Alpha considered himself a pragmatist. He had founded a clan, so he protected his clan. He cared for them by amassing his hoard, and as for the Gods… The Gods were physically present beings of enormous size and strength. One did not believe in them, one knew them, and knew why they should worship them.
Fate was the tricky one. Alpha did not want to believe in fate.
Yet, sometimes, and sometimes more and more, Alpha would see a glint in the corner of his eye, and if he turned towards water or glass or the family mirror, he would not see himself reflected. He would see someone else. Someone pink where he was silver, warm-purple where he was shade. Someone pleasing to look upon, where Alpha was weedy, dwarfed by his voluminous wings. It was the cruelest trick, a slim claw under the ribs that showed him what he could have been, and stole away the opportunity to be content with who he was.
Alpha didn’t know who was being shown to him, and he didn’t know why. He’d read of no such magic. Resentment ate into other musings. Idle thoughts about whether the dragon was a lover or an enemy, or a friend. Jealousy was the enemy of wonder and interest. He no longer even wanted to meet them, whoever it was that was his mirror-dragon.
Alpha wanted an ending. He wanted to meet whatever creature that had ensorcelled him, and break their magic or else end their life. That was the fate that Alpha chose.
Although, when he was weak and on the cusp of sleep… he did wonder if the mirror-dragon ever saw him back, and if they were displeased with what was reflected, or if perhaps they felt something entirely different.
