While Casey was born in the Southern Icefield, she worships the Shadowbinder. In the service of shadows, she traveled far and wide, but always ended up back in the Icewarden's domain. After a few comings and goings from her birth clan, she was no longer welcome, and her travels began anew. Even so, she ended up back in the cold, staying with Polareis instead.

Despite her dark beliefs, she's always had a bright and cheerful attitude, leading many dragons to question her allegiance. Although she no longer experiences the wanderlust of her youth, she still offers her prayers to the darkness. This persuasion makes some of the dragons in the clan uneasy, although she didn't talk about it often. Instead, she was more likely to prattle on about whatever games she's thought up over the last week. She even found a reluctant but consistent playmate in Cairn, for a time.

But when Hemlock and Cilla announce their intentions to visit the Forbidden Portal once more, Casey is among the first of their supporters. To her the shadows whisper of their heroism, a journey which will right ancient wrongs and usher in a new era of prosperity for the righteous. She grows more outspoken about her beliefs, landing her Hemlock's favoritism- and Cairn's disappointment. Upset to find that her mate doesn't support her, their relationship grows tumultuous, all the more so when Casey receives Hemlock's Blessing.

In her, the Blessing manifests as an ability to make things disappear. The more she uses it, the more effective it becomes. It doesn't occur to her to be nervous about her new ability until it's too late.
