As one of the clan’s original founders, Cerne has been a counterweight of consideration to Alacrith’s brutal efficiency since the beginning. The administrative glue that holds Clan Sunsharp together, he chiefly concerns himself with regulations and procedures. To the outsider, Clan Sunsharp is a well-oiled machine, but Cerne will be the first to remind people that the clan’s reputation is only achieved through consistent and well-maintained processes - and a lot of work behind the scenes.

Somehow he’s the most persnickety and the most personable of the command team, his involvement in day-to-day clan operations lending him more time to mingle with members on an individual basis. Amidst all the grousing about sloppy paperwork and correcting errors, Cerne usually takes the time to learn where a dragon hails from, what their story is, and what they intend to do after their apprenticeship. Most are quick to learn that Cerne is only as nitpicky as he is because he cares about his clanmates and wants them to be treated fairly.

Cerne keenly recognizes that dragons are constantly cycled in and out of the lair, and will repeat himself frequently to maintain consistency in clan culture and convey leadership expectations. Many dragons earning their credentials in Clan Sunsharp have found him to be very quotable for this reason, often parroting “Cerne-isms” long after they’ve departed. His attunement to the health of the clan guides the command team’s decisions, as he’s usually the first to pick up on shifts in climate and cultural trends. Despite not being socially savvy or genial in any regard, Cerne possesses the one thing his partners lack: regular face to face interaction with Clan Sunsharp’s members.
