Bloodmoon doesn't remember his childhood. He's not sure he has one. As far as his memory serves, a voice whispered in his ear and he was dragged out of a pool of liquid shadows fully grown in a grove of twisted trees under a perpetual shade.

For a long while he sat there, getting his bearings, watching dark shapes pass in the shadows. It was... thoughtlessly that he moved, toppling trees to create a clearing, and circling it- a camp. Then he carved the nests himself, filling the bases of the petrified trees with that liquid shadow he'd risen from. Then a food storage- and then he started digging until a large, deep den allowed him to curl up and sleep.

It was then that the tiny Fae appeared, and then that they silently agreed to create a home for themselves.
One of the nests was filled to the brim shortly after.

Faemoon and Bloodmoon, they'd decided their names were. Far from unique, and further from creative. But it was their agreement.
Mother and Father, they'd be known as to the clan. Only they needed to know the others' name. None needed speak to him at all- he decided quietly. Faemoon could speak just fine, and his temper would only chase away his clan.

He took up a silent role, protecting the clan, watching over them. He played with the hatchlings and brought in new blood. While his mate played the judge, he played the executioner. It is no boogy-dragon that the clan fears, it is Bloodmoon. Nothing escapes his sight, nothing escapes his notice.
He is the Eye and Claw of the Judge. He is the compassion of the twisted forest around the clan. The clan is his, and he guards it fiercely and with wild devotion, and with as much fury and determination as a Guardian protecting their ward.
He is protection. He is safety. He is respect. He is fear.
