Xylona

Living in the dark, shadowy nest is perfect for Xylona's colors. She gets to sneak around in the shadows that are her element, then pounce and roar - no, shut up, her roar is mighty! - and tackle her siblings. Mostly Aluires, since he likes fighting so much. Or sometimes Seryoga when they're over to visit! They claw and bite and squeak out roars until they're collapsed in happy, panting piles of scales, while Mom and Dad look on and smile happily.
The land's not going to map itself, is it?

With her dark coloring, Xylona can easily sneak around the Driftwood Drag with paper and ink in talon, writing down landmarks and coordinates while ignoring the various dangers of the area, from beast to beastclan. Admittedly her size doesn't really help much, but she gets by.

Back at the lair, she brings the information up with Selriona and Mom, helping them plan lair expansions, hunting trips, and gathering trips when Esten and Rydian come by. The work's nice and all, but it still leaves Xylona feeling... empty inside. Like she could be doing more. But what?
The clan has settled well in Wispwillow, but she and Uther can both see the future and, after bringing it up with Selriona, have authorization to continue scouting out future lair locations. As such, the two of them spend much of their time inspecting the prickly brambles further towards the center of the Tangled Wood. Sometimes Capacaron even comes along with them to lend protection from the various dangers that abound in Sornieth.

But this work doesn't do much to alleviate the emptiness in Xylona's heart. What is wrong with her? She'd thought that her family and friends were her charge but maybe... maybe she's wrong?
