Coral is a rather shy and secretive dragon whose life began with uncertainty. Her parents had her and her two siblings too young and still seem rather young to her, so it was better that she and all the other hatchlings were mostly raised by Mother Calla. She has a complex about dragons leaving her and thus doesn't get close to others unless she's sure they care about her. Her best friend is her sister and she has a secret crush on Dawn.

Typically found in the deeper trenches of Sornieth's seas, these mysterious maren haven't even seen the water's surface in many years.

While doing some deep diving one day, Coral made a new friend. Oannes was the wisest member of his pod, but notoriously bad with directions and had gotten lost. He hadn't seen the surface in years, let alone signs of his pod. His eyes had mostly adjusted to the lack of light, but it hadn't enabled him to see better. Coral slowly reintroduced him to the shallows and they bonded over their shared interests. They learned their parents had both been young when they'd come into the world and hadn't known much about parenting. Oan had to be his siblings' main caretaker as his parents just wanted to party all the time. Coral's parents hadn't been as rowdy, but she still connected to her new friend thinking about how she'd been closer to her sister than her parents in the beginning.
It'll take a while to find Oan's pod again, and Coral is in no hurry to say goodbye to her new friend.
