Faust

favorite food(s):
Brackwater Lumphead Broad-Footed Mole

familiar:
Crumbling Goblin

A merchant with a discerning eye for rarities, Faust runs the curiosity shop with shelves lined with trinkets and baubles from all across Sornieth. He's a peculiar dragon with obscure tastes, but some find that this makes his store stand out as intriguing.

Rarely is he ever at home, as he's often retrieving new and interesting wares. On occasion he'll travel with the argosy to hunt for goods wherever they dock. He'll often trade with locals of these areas with goods only found in the Arcane region, bringing home treasures that cannot be found in the Starfall Isles.

When he is actually present, Faust is quite the eloquent and gracious, albeit bizarre dragon. He mostly associates with other merchants, always interested in trading. He often goes to the library, reading about the trinkets one might find in other Elements' territories, studying on how he could come across them. Much to the dismay of Patchouli, he often tries to trade for library books as well. (They are not for sale or trade.)

Aside from fixating over objects, Faust enjoys spending time at the tavern, as well as the café (where he still tries to trade for things). He enjoys socializing, hearing the interesting things each dragon has to share. He likes to gauge other's interests, occasionally going out of his way to retrieve things they'd like. His reasoning is that 'everyone should have trinkets that inspire joy for them'.

The reason for his obsession of treasures is unclear, as he doesn't often discuss it. All he'll say on the matter is that he used to not be able to have any belongings, and now wishes to hoard what he can. But to keep it all to himself is daunting, and he would rather give everyone the chance for peculiar objects that they can call their own. While his past may have been dreary, he's an optimist with a generous (and eager to trade) heart.

extra:

His home is built atop his shop in the marketplace, across from the port storage.
