BIOGRAPHY
"Hercules" had never felt quite right. He had been born a male dragon, and while there where some things about being male that he liked, he just didn't...feel like a boy. It wasn't uncommon in Sorinth to see a dragon like him. After all, it was only after he started traveling, talking to other dragons, did he realize that he...wanted to be a she. So she picked her new name, Eirene, and she picked her new home, a quiet clan in The Grotto far away from the hardworking Earth dragons of her own clan, some of whom were too conservative for her taste. She got lucky that her parents were supportive, though they didn't really understand, and her twin brother, Iphicles, helped to fill in the gaps back home. His children were not so supportive...save one, whom she brought with her to The Grotto. Eirene had always been passionate about mixing drinks, which was an odd choice of job in her hardworking hometown. She liked to sit in the pubs with her father and talk to the miners, stealing little sips of drink when her father's head was turned. She had always been like that since her hatchling days, and now she had the experience to do it. It turns out a Nature clan is perfect for brewing. There are so many different kinds of berries, perfect for making wines. There are fields of wheat and barley perfect for making different beers. And best of all, Eirene could experiment with her brews in the comfort of her home, built just inside the brewery's front. She opened a small pub called Traveler's Tales, where merchants, adventurers, and the pirates who docked here would come to tell stories. That was how she met her wife, Aphrodisia. The adventurous young Tundra had come in out of the wind and rain one night to hear the tales of other travelers. She had been hopping between merchant wagons, trying out the profession of her parents, but there were far more interesting stories to be had here, and, despite her Wind Flight birth, she found she was just not cut out for adventuring. Eirene always keeps her pub doors open, welcoming weary souls. That is how Hamlet came to work at the pub. When he came to tell his sorrowful tale, Eirene, feeling sorry for him (especially because his mate was so far from home), offered him a job in the brewery, crafting fine teas and sweets for the hatchlings who came in with their parents, or were old enough to hitch rides on caravans. Hamlet graciously accepted, and brought his great-great granddaughter along with him, adding to their little family. |
Personality Eirene basically drinks her meals, so she can get a little tipsy sometimes. But she is always able to maintain a clear head. She is not so serious as to bring down the mood in the pub, but she handles the business, so she has an eye for strangers who might pay a little more for her drinks than most. She is always busy coming up with new recipes, and when she is not entertaining her friends or wife, she is locked in her study at the back of the brewery, testing new recipes. While she is not triggered in any way by those who may misgender her, or friends back home using her dead name, she prefers her new pronouns and name, and gently corrects those who don't know any better. |
