Empire of Death: Clan of Death
|
Audun was born in the Scarred Wasteland within Plague to a small family of fae dragons. Due to the harsh nature of the flight, for a long time during her time as a hatchling she and the other hatchlings in their group weren't given names. She became aware at a young age how difficult it was to survive, seeing many of the weaker hatchlings and dragons fall victim to Plague's volatile nature. Those that fell ill either fought it off or succumbed. Those who were injured either learned how to adapt or treat themselves or withered away. The hatchling knew it was cruel but the tough love as her family called it taught her how to use everything to aid in her own survival.
Shortly after she grew into a young dragon she was deemed old enough to receive the name Audun. She was proud to have been smart and adaptable enough to survive to adulthood and continued to do her best to keep herself and her family alive. Unfortunately, not long after a storm hit the area. The strong winds whipped sand and sharp pieces of twisted roots and branches over their home. By the time it was over Audun found herself alone. She'd been tossed by the storm and those she managed to find had already passed, their injuries too great. The fae did the best she could to bury those she found, taking items that she could use, and moving on. |
From that point forward Audun became a nomadic scavenger. She traveled around the Plague flight in search of items that she could collect to later sell and trade for other necessities. Despite growing up with family around her, she quickly adjusted to life of a loner. Times she did stop in populated areas to rest were short and spent mostly to herself. Getting close with other dragons had never been a priority to her—why would she when she'd seen from a young age that death could claim a dragon so suddenly? Audun was completely content with a life of solitude and wandering the wasteland in search of treasure. One day she was found by members of the Empire of Death, brought to their camp near the Wyrmwound to speak about her trespassing with their leader. Audun found the process annoying as a whole and felt they could've told her off and sent her on her way. She didn't want any trouble and would've happily listened. However, the conversation took an interesting turn when she was offered a contract with them. She would continue her work as a scavenger but they'd become a permanent trader with her. Audun isn't in the clan often but when she does return from a scavenging trip she hands over their requested items in exchange for items they had no use for. It was beneficial to both parties and she doesn't plan to break their contract anytime soon. |
