There's many, many topics that hatchlings need to learn during their brief childhood. Tansy's job is to teach the basics of lore, foraging, reading, and etiquette. Some of the subject matter is dry, but she expertly presents it in fascinating ways.
Not all the adult dragons that join her clan are educated, and she holds private lessons to help them catch up. She's had to teach some dragons from deprived backgrounds how to read and write draconic script. Literacy is important to the Empyreal clan, and she wants to keep everyone in the loop.
Tansy has a sharp sense of humor. She's careful not to hurt her students' self-esteem, but other dragons are fair game.
