Biography
Jaina
Mercenary | X | Claw-for-hire |

|
Jaina didn't have much hope left; which was why she had been so careless. She had stopped covering her tracks and had ignored the basic principle of monster hunting - the hunter often becomes the hunted. Now she was immobilised in a pile (puddle? Mass?) of black, viscous ectoplasm, and the cuts she had sustained were starting to sting. She wanted to curse and shout and scream, but that would just force her to inhale the vapours coming off of the gunk. If she was going to die, she would not do so choking on the stench. |
|
The Malevolent spirit was lumbering forwards, leaving a hissing trail behind it, and Jaina prepared herself for one final clash, when the floor around her burst into flame. A perfect circle looped around her, forming a vaporising shield that forced the dark spirit back into the shadows. The fire had also helped burn away the acrid vapours, so Jaina could take a clean but smoke tinged breath. When the flames were redirected at the spirit it burnt from the inside out, leaving behind a pile of black ash. It was only then that a tundra slunk out of the shadows to claim credit. "I was doing fine on my own" Jaina said as she shook off a fine layer of soot. |
"Huh, that's funny," The tundra smirked, puffing up his mane "I could have sworn you were just about to have your soul ripped from your body. But, my mistake." "I've been collecting bounties since before you were born, fluff ball" "With what I've seen, it's a surprise you've lived this long" Jaina growled. She would have to find another bounty now, which meant she couldn't return to The Lupanar that night. It was even easier to hate this rude creature when he was the reason she couldn't go back to her charge. Not that he wanted to see her, or that he accepted how important he was to her, but the principle still stood. This tundra was just an aggravating waste of her time. |
