At first glance, it would be easy to consider Sunshade to be Penumbra's complete opposite. One is sunshine yellow, and flitters about the clan about accompanied by a Lux Spectre. The other is midnight dark, and is rarely found unless she wants to be. Penumbra sets her eyes on the future with each dealing of her cards, Sunshade listens to the voices of the past, skull in hand. And where his counterpart is nothing more than secrets layered upon secrets, Sunshade speaks of his origins openly.
In a cheerful, almost childlike tone, the fae is able to recall each and every detail of how his clan was crushed beneath the talons of the Emperor Luminax - he even got a plushie to commemorate the event. Needless to say, Sunshade rarely finds company except with those of a similarly morbid nature, his mate Rendan chief among them.
Where Sunshade is painful truth, Penumbra is blissful secret. And yet it seems in some ways the two faes can't help but be alike. Both are adepts in the arcane, favored by the spirits, and devoted to the Shadowbinder. Both have a history that goes back to when The Clan of Glowing Night was nothing more than a prayer Penumbra would whisper into the night. Some find the shared likeness between the two to be quite unexpected, but to Sunshade the resemblance makes perfect sense.
He is her brother, after all.
