Katsura is from an ancient forgotten folklore of a forbidden couple that met in secret on the banks of the Katsura River - and then threw themselves off the Togetsukyo Bridge to drown together in the river's waters.

Katsura is fascinated by romantic love - and how it drives people insane, insane enough to take their own lives rather than be separated from the ones they love, insane enough where death is better than life without love.

She will become obsessed with a dragon couple and observe them almost to the point of stalking (she's getting better about it, really). She'll watch a couple for a few weeks or so and then move on to another couple.

Other dragons have reported that their romantic feelings, be they for secret crushes or proclaimed mates, intensify in Katsura's presence - sometimes a dragon will ask Katsura to hide nearby on a special date to help with the "mood."

Katsura also has a small obsession with doom, insanity, and death, which tends to remain hidden unless she becomes insanely stressed. Too much stress will lead to episodes where she will rant about star-crossed lovers and the ominous fates of couples she has observed, punctuated with a heart attack. These episodes are the reason she is inclined to leave her runes uninvoked - her inclinations suggest the process, if it doesn't kill her, will leave her unstable and insane, not unlike the couple of her origin story.
