Biography

PASINE - Lamia

White Gold Cerdae Pendant Brilliant Brass Torc Stone Knife

Pasine used to have a lovely song, and a lovelier heart. She was beautiful in all ways, granted grace beyond measure and a heart made of gold. She had suitors from across the world over, enchanted by her stunning appearance and sweet voice, and few dragons in the land could resist her appeal. This included those who had already pledged themselves to others.

This included the dragon who was to be her downfall.

He was nearly as beautiful as she, dazzling down to the end of his tail, and he had charm in spades. Pasine fell for him like she had fallen for no other, and for a time, they were happily in love, especially the young love that feels as if it will never fade. But fade it did, because Pasine's dear lover had a mate of his own already, a dragon who grew jealous the instant she heard of the one who had stolen her own love away. This dragon was a sorceress, a powerful one, and with her heart burning a black hole in her chest, she laid a curse on her lover and his beautiful sweetheart alike. They would bear no children, and when they tried to raise a nest for the third time, she would turn on him, tearing his eyes out and devouring him.

It was a curse made by envy and wrath, and it had strength untold. As a result, it came true. When the lovers attempted to combine their magic to bring a third nest to life, Pasine suddenly crumpled, and when she arose, she was not the same. Her legs were gone, replaced by a slick, shimmering gold tail, and the loving light in her eyes took on a bloodthirsty cast. She killed her lover on the spot with her deadly fangs, and ravaged the empty nest to pieces with a shrieking wail heard throughout the world.

Since then, no one knows where she hides, only that she leaves decimated, rotten nests in her wake. She is a creature of bitter vengeance, denied her happiness and cursed to rampage forevermore through the land. Only a knight of great valor and pure heart can hope to end her terrible reign.
