Biography
Liam
"Let it go. Let it roll right off your shoulder. Don't you know, the hardest part is over?" He was lost, but he was use to that. You see, he had been lost for as long as he could remember. When he was a hatchling, the only home he had ever known was destroyed and ravaged by a war that he was too young to even understand. He was the lone survivor, and since then he has been wandering the land with what seemed like no purpose or guidance, which it probably would had been, if it wasn't for the fireflies. Their blinking lavender lights seemed to be guiding him, and he could not explain it, but they seemed to be leading him to where he needed to be. All of the trust and hope he had left, he put into the fireflies. He would sleep during the day and travel at night, when their lights were the brightest. "Let it slide. Let your troubles fall behind you. Let it shine, until you feel it all around you" One night, the fireflies had led him deep into a forest. He tried to walk quietly as to not disturb any sleeping creatures, and also because each time he would step on and snap a twig he felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest. He was scared of how dark and foreboding this forest was. The canopy of the trees were so thick that the moon's light could not penetrate the forest floor. If it wasn't for the blinking lights of the fireflies in front of him, there would be no way for him to navigate the thick undergrowth. At last, he stepped out into a clearing. He stopped to take in its beauty. There was a large lake in the middle, and the moons reflection danced on its surface. Behind the lake stood a hill, and at the top stood a magnificent weeping willow. He watched as its long flowing branches shifted with the slight breeze. For once, he didn't need the fireflies to tell him that that was where he was supposed to be. "All of my regret will wash away somehow, but I cannot forget the way I feel right now." As he made his way toward the hill, the fireflies circled around him, rather than in front of him. Once at the top, the weeping willow's tremendous size was more astonishing. He gently pushed its branches aside so that he could go inside. The grass was soft on his feet, and for the first time in a long time he felt at ease. He slowly walked around admiring all of the beauty that this tree had to offer. As he was approaching the willow's base, he stopped suddenly. For sleeping at the base of this tree, was a blue dragon. He was taken aback, for she was just as beautiful as the landscape around her. He then noticed small blinking rose colored lights around her, and he then realized that she was also surrounded by fireflies. The longer he watched her, he realized that she looked just as broken and lost as he did. "And I don't mind, if it's me you need to turn to. We'll get by. It's the heart that really matters in the end." |
