Leaving the haywire lair of Nylite, you find yourself in the heart of the Platforms. Here, dragons are frequently, bustling about their day with friendly greetings and idle conversation. There seems to be many coming and going from one particular island, which is entirely taken up by an enormous tree. Curiosity peaked, you approached the huge wooden door carved in the base among the roots. Entering the tree, you find the inside just as large and grand as the outside. It is completely hollow, the inside space filled with boxes and cubbies of what you can only assume is storage space. Jars of fireflies and bright flames hang from wooden support beams, pullies move up and down the walls, and a spiral staircase follows the shape of the tree far up into the sky. You spy a practically dressed Tundra sitting before a book, scribbling away.
“Two more of these whats-a-things… Ah, someone. Look but don’t touch, I am Rimeth and this is the hoard I keep. Don’t mess it up.” Rimeth hardly glances at you as he speaks, still scribbling in the book.

Rimeth, though born in the Southern Icefields, migrated to the drastically different climate of the Shifting Expanse as soon as he hatched. Having been promised to the Galestorm Flyers by his birth clan, Rimeth was set to live a relatively luscious life. His life was not planned out in detail, only the bare bones were settled from the moment of his birth. He arrived at the Galestorm Flyers with an escort, would become one of the Flyers, and find himself a niche to fill. Rimeth spent most of his hatchling hood experimenting in the different walks of life, shadowing the various artisans and scientists of the clan as he grew. However, it soon became evident that whatever Rimeth may chose to do, there would have to be concessions in how he did it.

Tundras are known to have memory struggles, particularly in relation to the names and faces of other dragons. Rimeth took that stereotype and amplified it. He constantly forgot appointments, meetings, new dragons, items, faces, lessons, anything and everything a typical dragon may recall with ease. It didn’t matter if it was a short term or long term memory, it would be forgotten soon enough. It drove the young Tundra mad, not being able to recall things told to him not ten minutes ago, not recognizing those he walked past in the halls. Things finally came to a head when Xena, another Tundra with bad memory, brought Rimeth her scent journal in hopes of helping him access his memory. Rimeth took one whiff of the first page and promptly lost hope in his path in the world. He could not smell a thing.
Rimeth did wallow in self-pity for some time, frustrated and full of sorrow at his gnat-like memory and lacking sense of smell. He moped and did nothing for nearly a month, until at last the hopelessness gave way to anger. Partly directed at himself, Rimeth used his anger as fuel for a fire, pulling himself away from the pits of despair he had locked himself in so far. With a firm understanding that the path originally open to him was closed, Rimeth turned to new ideas and new tools, hoping to find something that could be his scent journal. He took up manual journaling, writing all the events of the day in his planner, keeping a written inventory of what he owned. Elspeth saw this as a chance to give him a job, and so Rimeth became the record keeper of the clan. He worked in the hoard, keeping manual records of items in the Flyers' care. He grew close with Helios and Sulmara, who taught him the basics of the job. He finally began to flourish in his life.

Truthfully, Rimeth was not surprised when the Flyers moved to the Windswept Plateau, though he felt incredibly anxious about the event. Beyond the new environment, Rimeth knew he would have to entirely rework his hoard system, restructuring the catalogues to fit with the new location. Thankfully, with the help of Helios’ careful memory and many clanmates' support, all of the items Rimeth guarded were moved carefully and successfully. He kept most of his organization system, simply moving it into a vertical shape inside an enormous hollowed tree, where he spends most of his days carefully scribing his memories.

Rimeth is known to his newer clanmates as a gruff, focused, and inflexible dragon. He speaks in finalities, preferring to have certainty in his life so he can record it in his journals and not have to question if his memory failed before he could even do that. He has neither time nor room for errors in his work, as they take hours for him to find and then hours more to fix, small as they may be. In so many ways, his demeanor is similar to Helios, but underneath it all he is vastly different.

Rimeth’s habits were born of fear, a deep anxiety rooted in his memory, or lack of it. He fears losing his focus for just a moment, and then forgetting what he needed to recall so desperately. He is diligent to the point or paranoia, untrusting of his own mind despite having overcome the initial obstacle. This comes out in a constant need to work, as if throwing his entire being into motion will make it so he never has the chance to forget. He never leaves his journal and watch behind, keeping them as a small comfort to his anxiety.
However, Rimeth is not all fear, nor is he all pity. He spent far too long wallowing, and became angry as a result. To attach a metaphor to it, his pity and fear were coal, compressed into a diamond sharp enough to cut the thickest of skins. Rimeth is angry at much in the world; at his luck for leaving him high and dry, at the world for taking what is treasure most by all, and at himself for allowing it to do so. Logically, he knows it is irrational and useless, anger can no longer get him anywhere, it will not bring him to some higher plane or allow him to smell the world around him, but he cannot let go of it. It simmers and sometimes it spits, sharp tongued insults that rival Helios’ own. Thankfully, the Wildclaw knows he speaks out of exhaustion for other means of expression, and the two continue to be friends.

The only other dragon Rimeth shares a friendship with would be Scorn, who shares his pain of memory loss. Though the Pearlcatcher does not suffer amnesia to the same extent as Rimeth, he shares the pain, understands the difficulty of not recalling something you were doing. The two do not see much of each other in their walks of life, but they make time to visit, to try and create something for Rimeth’s sake. To Rimeth, Scorn is a hope that one day he may recall something, that maybe he won’t forget.
