Biography

XtBz9fJ.png Sylvania
xxxxxxxxxxThe Ranger
As a young hatchling in the scrubland of the Dragonhome, Sylvania was fascinated by stories of the wild rangers of the Viridian Labyrinth. She often played at being one, crafting herself a toy bow and exploring the rugged land of her home territory, and it was considered normal enough. As she grew into an adult dragon, her games developed into serious attempts at rangerhood. She learned to traverse difficult terrain on wing and foot, to scavenge and sneak and track.

Sylvania's clanmates were polite enough to her face, but she would have been a fool not to know how they tutted and shook their heads behind her back, how they scoffed at the idea of a Fae ranger. To them, it was still play, grown into delusion. True, she had the trappings of a ranger, and the basic skills, but she still dwelled with the clan, and they did not believe she could truly survive on her own, living off the land.

But she found she could not clear her mind, and their disapproval continued to haunt her. Instead of dissipating in her isolation, the frustration morphed into indignation. Rather than let it fester into scorn, Sylvania chose to use it to fuel her resolve - she would remain in the wilderness to prove her abilities.

The Fae wandered farther than she ever had before, crossing wide open plains, scrub woods, and craggy cliffs. She did battle with beast and bandit alike, and every exhilarating victory honed her skills, forging her into a true ranger of the wilds.

She never expected one of these opponents to become a stalwart companion. Atop an arid peak, Sylvania was ambushed by a Longneck skirmisher. The two combatants found themselves evenly matched as they clashed, until their battle was interrupted by a hippogryph, drawn by the sound of conflict and the scent of blood. Faced with this greater threat, Sylvania and the Longneck fought together to defend themselves, and as the beast fell, an alliance was born.

The dragon and the beastclan, named Kusa, formed an uneasy truce and agreed to travel together until they were safely out of hippogryph territory. Over their journey they grew to respect each other, and by the time they had left the mountains behind, they were inseparable friends. Rather than part ways, they agreed to continue traveling together, wherever the winds took them. And Sylvania felt no need to return home.
