Biography

I Will Not Forget Them

It's a gruesome job, but somebody has to do it - Cheryl is the keeper of the dead within Clan Dragonblight atop She of Glass, as well as the leader of all things spiritual, such as bone reading. She leads the initiation ritual of the clan, in which the newcomer is blessed in the name of the Icewarden, as well as purifying any and all who seek to enter or leave the burial grounds.

She of Glass, a glacier that froze in place while the mountain below it crumbled away, is the clan's graveyard. It is littered with organized piles of bones that have been carefully bleached completely white, all intricately carved with uncountable runes of the Icewarden and prayers to the Dragonblight spirit (nobody can decide if it's to keep her pleased, or to keep her at bay), as well as memorial stones and trinkets. At the peak, a funeral pyre burns, that she maintains throughout the day. Any poor soul found by the clan who has lost their life in the snow is interred on the slopes, though for the sake of international relations, dragons from clans outside of their territory and the Icefield are only permanently placed once nobody comes forward to claim their bodies within the year. The clan does their best to spread the word, and clans who choose not to reclaim the bodies are welcome to visit their graves, and many do. If they happen to have a specific ritual for their dead, Cheryl will recreate it the best she can.

Cheryl is as grim as her profession implies, with a pessimistic outlook on things. She prefers the company of the quiet bones to her own kind and her explicit religious nature sometimes has other dragons wary of striking up a conversation with her, lest it turn into an interrogation on their spiritual impurities. She has Rem as a secret confidante, while Genevieve is her entirely unprofessional assistant and her entirely impossible lover.

Exalting Cheryl to the service of the Icewarden will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
