ORIGINS Born outside the reef. Came to the reef as a spiral. NOTES • Sharkbait is his daughter. • As an environmentalist, Aloha is studying the impact dragonkind is having on Sornieth. • Came to the reef with Jaguar, Rosette, Glimmer. • Redrock Cove Team Fav Foods: |
They expected to not see another living thing in this dangerous territory. Few ventured to come here unless on a specific quest, like theirs. (They were searching for a rare type of Fulgurite rumored to be found on this mountain, formed when lightning strikes the snow and then travels to the sand below.) So the pair was very surprised to stumble across a nest. The eggs were shattered, the hatchlings lost to the elements with no parents around to protect them.
What had happened here? IceFloe moved off to comb the surrounding area for any clues while IcyWaters got out her digging equipment to bury the remains. It was heart-breaking work. The fifth and last egg had been snugged down into the snow more than the others and when IcyWaters attempted to lift the egg shell, it had weight. The last egg was not broken! But was the hatchling inside still alive?
Unhatched Ice eggs were known to be resilient. It was only once the hatchling was exposed to the outside elements that there was danger. IcyWaters slowly examined the egg for damage. It was intact! She nestled the egg carefully among the items in her pack and left to join IceFloe in his search for the parents. After finding no signs of the parents, IcyWaters and IceFloe agreed the best course of action would be to return to the reef with the egg. But, no sooner had they started back, IcyWaters felt the egg rocking in her pack. The hatchling inside of the egg must have felt her movement during the search and thought now would be a good time to emerge from its shell!
Quickly, the two explorers found as best a shelter as they could and opened the pack, exposing the egg. It was rocking and trembling quite a bit now, as if excited by the prospect of hatching. Then there was a crack and the shell fell away in shards. For a moment, the two wildclaws were stunned. The hatchling was the brightest colored dragon they had ever seen! It practically glowed against the white snow. It was a little male spiral. IcyWaters scooped him up, his body cool to the touch, and she had to remind herself that was normal for an Ice dragon. He would still need to be protected from the elements though, so IceFloe rigged a snug little pouch from one of the spare arctic gloves. Then he strapped it to the front of his chest where he could keep an eye on the hatchling as they traveled back to the reef.

One of the few dragons I think looks good as every breed.
Imagine if he were a perma-baby. So adorable. (But not gonna happen. =D )
