For a long time, Andrew was a mercenary. He traveled the continent and fought and killed and of course was injured, but never badly. He knew that he could be killed or hurt but never thought about it, never really considered that it could just as soon be him. Until one day, he was. Andrew survived, and came out of it better than he had any right to. The only lasting damages were the scars all up and down his right side, stiffening his face and legs, and his wings, twisted and shattered beyond repair by medicine or magic. Shaken by the close call, he decided to retire, and as soon as he was well enough to travel he sold his sword, bought a pair of cheap wooden prostheses, and headed home. He and Symmes are the clan fishermen now, and spend their days with nets and poles out on the Square Toe Lake. He swaps his war stories for Symmes' tales of adventure. Tom promised, and delivered on, some more advanced prostheses. He and Lemon met each other, flirted on and off for a few years, and are married with two daughters and one soon-to-be daughter in law. It's monotonous, sure- every day is much like the last, but in the best possible way. Life is good. He doesn't wear his wooden wings much these days, and even more rarely Tom's metal-and-plastic contraptions. Both pairs are heavy and awkward, only allowing him to fly slowly and for short distances before becoming exhausted. He likes taking long walks at night to watch the lightning storms. |

Even though Andrew's quieter personality might not mesh on the surface with Lemon's more energetic, boisterous, temperment, they really love each other and get along extremely well. Their compatibility might have something to do with Lemon frequently traveling for business, giving Andrew time to recover from her high-energy self. |

As the caveguard for the entrance that Andrew usually uses, Sterling likes to think she knows him pretty well. She doesn't of course, not really, but they greet each other in the mornings when they arrive and wish each other well in the evenings when it's time to get home. Really, what else in a friendship do you need? |

Ithaca is Andrew's younger daughter, and one he's fiercely protective of. He hates having to leave to fish all day, especially with how much Lemon's work makes her travel, but he does his best to make up for it by hanging out in the evening. |
