Born out of the shifting of tectonic plates, Farista came into the world for the purpose of serving Gods. It was her duty to keep deities happy and to act as a conduit between them and the mortals that worshipped them. She served her duty well, never questioning her masters and following their every instruction.
However, as time went on, the Gods spent less and less time with mortals. Slowly, one by one, they fell asleep, leaving her and the other spirits that served them alone. Lost without a purpose, Farista drifted around her old territory. She watched villages rise and fall, she watched as mortals came and went, and she found herself interested in them - but mortals, it seemed, had lost the ability to hear spirits.
Then, one day, a young man arrived in one of the villages she had found herself watching. He wasn't like the others - when the spirits spoke to him, he could hear them. She came to him for the conversation, which eventually turned into playfulness. Her bond with him grew with each passing day, until eventually she took him as a lover.
She now prays that the Gods never awaken, as they would not approve of one of their servants carrying on so with a mortal.
