Biography

The candles stacked several rows deep in the window sill gutter, as more than one threatens to reach the end of its life, and the breeze created by a door shutting pushes them to the limit. One extinguishes, smoke curls lazily rising to the ceiling.

From her floor cushion, hunched over her writing desk, the young Coatl seems not to notice; her pen continues to scratch rhythmically against the parchment. Every now and then, her tongue licks into the air, accompanied by a satisfied hum; she sways to the sounds of her own voice and pen, the picture of contentment.

The Nebulae, is carefully printed at the top of the first page, half-tucked under an open book which is in turn propped against a stack. The spines are old, worn, and faded; a note with a due date is stuck to the top-most book.

Against the floor, Alexandrite's tail swishes, as she pens: an accounting of the historical saga of druids, and cabals, and disaster - and the dragons who saved them all.

Clan Directory
an accounting of the members of The Nebulae and their arcane research
╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯
The first recorded mention of The Nebulae comes from the writings of the Godswood Druids - specifically, the private journal of the clan's seer, a Wildclaw called Gemma. Their appearance on the heels of the Druids' internal conflict and at the advent of the ecological disaster that destroyed their home, bred nothing but mistrust in the clan they asked sanctuary from. It is initially unclear as to the motivations of the cabal, or their intent in settling on the verge of disaster, but what is clear in the writings of both Gemma, and the Godswood Druids' leader, is that The Nebulae had foreknowledge of the catastrope to come.

Intact Parchment Scions of the Arcanist
Known members of The Nebulae are here recorded, along with their role in the Failure of Stars, for the ease of further research into their histories and intentions.
54371833.png Indisputably, the founder and leader of The Nebulae was a Fae dragon by the name of Orion. Though she seemed to have preferred being known as a visionary whose eyes were filled with starlight - history has remembered her as someone a little more ruthless and unyielding in her pursuit of The Truth.
45118601.png Gifted with a keen mind for mathematics, Achernar turned his mind and its incredible accuracy to the stars. Records indicate that his ability to locate, and chart, stars was nearly unparalleled - and this seems to be what brought him to the attention of Orion. Together with Sekhmet, they would be the ones to begin a research group that would come to call themselves The Nebulae.
77603778.png It is difficult to find any texts that agree on Sekhmetir's self-described specialty, and how to define it. Some call her a Soothsayer, though struggle to define such a title in an academically acceptable way. Others suggest she was a statistician and probability expert without peer; using hard science shrouded in mysticism to share her findings. This historian can only believe that Sekhmetir was touched by something unworldly and magical - as too many accounts of draconic mysticism are proven correct in this tale to dismiss entirely.
