Moonlight is a Shade Fragment Eliminator, a robotic dragon with armor forged in magical flames, created for a singular purpose: the absolute eradication of the interstellar plague known as the Shade. Not much is known about the Shade. It is known that it can possess certain dragons and other creatures, mainly Beastclan. It seems to show a preference for possessing sentient creatures. And it is utterly inimical towards life on Sorneith.

Moonlight, in particular, has a burning hatred for the Shade. While other SFE dragons go about their duty with a zealous worship of their orders, Moonlight instead holds a seething rage for what she destroys. Had she been an organic dragon, and seen the things she had seen, she would still do whatever was in her power to destroy the Shade. She will not deny, though, that her robotic form offers many benefits, in particular having no organic scent for pursuers to track.

She usually fights with tooth and claw, and she is well-trained and highly experienced in such combat, but in emergencies she is one of the few SFEs capable of exposing her magically-powered core and emitting a pulse of chaotic magical energy, causing strange and often debilitating effects on everything around her. She has only had to do this a very few times, and since it exposes what could be considered the center of her being she prefers not to, but she cannot deny that it is effective in removing the ability to fight from everything in a twenty-meter radius.
