Biography

The large, female Imperial dragon loomed over the battlefield. Even for an Imperial, she was large, with an air of complete and utter contempt around her. A flick of a claw, and one of her scales sheared off of her own body and impaled itself inside a Beastclan that was charging at her. Without even paying any mind, she turned towards the biggest nearby threat attacking her clan: an Overcharged Silverbeast that had been captured by the more intelligent Beastclan, and turned towards her clan's lair.

The scale returned from the now-deceased Beastclan and slammed back into her shoulder, unnoticed by her. She charged the Silverbeast, scales separating and flying along next to her, magically propelled by permanent enchantments that also bound them to her mind. They were useful tools, good for excavating and cutting through jungles.

They were also very, very good for killing Shade-infected Beastclan.

A dozen scales embedded themselves into the side of the Silverbeast as another group sheared into the back of its ankle, shredding the ligaments and tendons and forcing it down onto one knee. Just as she was about to deliver the coup-de-grace, a massive burst of power surged from the thing and knocked her backwards. It must have managed to tap into a magical leyline; the sting from that electrical discharge sent her reeling.

Her optical processors slowly, agonizingly, came back into working order, and she saw a gigantic fist on its way down towards the side of her head. She dug her claws into the earth and threw herself backwards, willing her scales to create a shield to block its blow. She breathed a sigh of relief as every scale under her command wrapped themselves around the Silverbeast's fist and lifted it into the air.

She looked around as her scales slowly chewed the Silverbeast to shreds. The clan was beset on all sides by marauding Beastclan. This was the land of Plague, and such attacks were not uncommon, but this was far worse than usual. Even so, the Shade Fragment Eliminators were taking to their work with their usual fervor.

Pyrite was at the forefront of the defensive formation, as usual. Shining arrows loosed from his bow buried themselves in hearts and necks, and not a single Beastclan had managed to get closer than twenty paces to him. When the arrows impacted, the red markings on his body glowed, and the arrow disappeared and then reappeared in his quiver. A very useful enchantment for an archer.

Chrome was in the process of mauling a large group of Longnecks who clearly had no idea what they had gotten themselves into. A small fragment of Shade leaked from one body, attempting to flee back into the wilds where it might possess another evil creature. Chrome, ignoring heavy blows from multiple angles, leapt on it and caught it in the special jar Pyrite had given her.

Athena looked around for Ledo; surely he would be in the thick of the fighting. A loud explosion caught her ear, and she turned to see Ledo with his jaw unhinged and a Frost Delver in front of him with a gigantic hole in its mechanical body. Athena allowed herself a quiet smirk. A Frost Delver would barely slow Ledo down. And there was Ledo's partner, Charlie, loosing all kinds of combat magic to drive back and destroy the enemy.

They would win this day, and easily. The rest of their host clan hadn't even needed to get involved. She felt a clawed foot rest on her back, and turned back to see her partner, Shinomori. "We will destroy them handily. Shall we?"

Athena couldn't help but grin. With Shinomori at her side, losing was not a possibility, let alone an option.
