Born in a dusty cave system in the Greatwyrm's Breach, Lorindol soon learned that a clan needs to stay together. Not always was the dusty ground of Dragonhome a suitable home for small, frail hatchlings, and in his time he saw many hatchlings fall ill, if they weren't given away once it turned out they might be less sturdy than their siblings.

Lorindol himself had sometimes been mocked by fellow hatchlings when he was still small -
his golden plumage and warm-hearted nature seemed to make it clear to them that he was not suited for the rough life that he would be supposed to lead in Dragonhome. That was not true - in fact, Lorindol was quite a strong little dragon even then, but he preferred to be gentle to others when there was a chance and always favoured acting kindly instead of hurting someone. Birds whose wings were broken were nursed back to health by him, mith enjoyed his presence for he would not shoo them away. And soon, he joined elder members of the clan in caring for their young. He learned what it meant to care for a hatchling, and enjoyed it greatly.

He spent his time tending to the nests of his clan, crafting decorations and toys for the newly born dragons, and though his parents enjoyed it, they also saw a light within him that seemed strange for a dragon born in an earthen nest.

And truly, it was not long until Lorindol made the decision of leaving his home. It was not easy for him, but quite suddenly, he had felt a great longing for building nests warmed by sunlight.
It surprised him greatly, but when he left, he knew he had made a change. The hatchlings that had mocked him as a child had grown into gentle and understanding dragons, and they had learned from Lorindol's kindness.

Wandering for months on end - as earth dragons enjoy doing - he found a small coastal city. From afar, he could see some sort of landmass in the distance. Curious, he flew closer, and as soon as he saw the evening sun illuminating the mountains of Arvarinar - so very different from those he knew from Dragonhome! - he knew that he had taken the right way. But soon after landing on the island, he got lost in the forests.

He even enjoyed it, wandering around through these unknown groves. But soon, his feet got tired, and he forced himself to rest nearby a stream. Sitting there, he heard a somewhat familiar humming sound. He looked around, and soon enough, a dragon whose plumage shone like the gentle morning sun was to be seen. Impressed and surprised, he got up, almost startling the young Coatl who had roamed through the forests.

He apologised in the most sincere manner, and Lorinand forgave him easily. She provided him with food, and the two of them marvelled at the beauty of the forest before they walked on together. And with great joy did they find the auroral archives, were they were welcomed happily. They learned of the teachings of the Golden Light Sages, and soon realised why they had both found their way to this place. They both offered their service and were accepted to live on Arvarinar with the Sages.

Thus, Lorindol came to care for the hatchlings that are born amidst the Sages. He cares for them, hums to them, tells them stories and shows images to them, similar to those he had seen in the caves in the Greatwyrm's Breach. He keeps on crafting toys, much to the joy of every hatchling having the pleasure of being cared for by Lorindol. A better hatchling-sitter, the Sages think, would've been hard to find.

Nests in Arvarinar are usually situated in or around the auroral archives, where Lorinand and Lorindol live and work. At a young age, they're brought to the Herald who takes a deep look into the eyes of the child, and tells Lorindol what the hatchling might grow into, so that Lorindol can in turn try to prepare for him for his fate as well as possible. And then Lorindol takes them under his wing, to protect them and teach them until they are old enough to understand the world on their own.
