He has never seen the spirits that haunt his family, nor can he sense them in any other way. Fascinated by what his family can see but he cannot, he has turned to science to seek answers to why they sense something more. For a long time, he worked with glass and metals, polishing lenses to mirror-quality to trap the images of the dead.

He was not successful in his endeavors, but he has learned to create telescope and eyeglass lenses of immaculate precision and mirrors of unblemished tain. He is still fascinated by what is left unseen to mundane eyes, but he recognizes that it is more lucrative to sell his lenses and mirrors to those who would have them and continue his experiments quietly. Others view his private experiments with some bafflement, and he is sometimes drawn as the clan crazy person, but he is content to work on his projects without the help of others if need be.

He first arrived to the Crystalpeak Plaza in order to sell some of his more expensive goods to the mages of the clan. It was definely not his intention to stay. After returning home with pockets full of gold and gemstones he decided it would be only sensible to make the journey again.

After a couple of similar trips he found himself quite liking the atmosphere of the crystallized mountains. Dragons living under the Arcanist's influence had already gotten used to unusual and strange forms of magic and nobody raised eyebrows at his work. When he added to the equation the charming, similar-minded pearlcatcher girl he'd stumbeled upon he decided it was time for some major life changes. Nowadays he is a reputable member of the clan, a happily mated merchant who is widely known for his top-quality work and willingness to assist others with their research.

He still cannot see the spirits, though.
