Tesma is the clan's founder. To keep the clan functioning most efficiently, they think it's necessary to keep a distance between them and their clan and work behind the scenes. This, and their brutal honesty means that not many people know or like them. If you somehow get to know them though, they're actually an understanding, non-judgmental person. Tesma is also a part of the hunting party, fighting and hunting being their preferred way to de-stress.

STORY

The third delivery of metal beams arrives right on time. Tesma bounds over to the delivery dragon, beaming ear to ear with excitement. They knew building a skyship was going to be fun, but they had never expected it to be this enjoyable.
“Thank you, thank you!” they exclaim, helping the other dragon carry the heavy equipment over to the correct pile.
“‘Course. Let’s get to installation, yeah?”
Tesma nods and waves Vaiti over. The tangerine-mottled Mirror nods and scuttles over to ver mate.
A sweet feeling flutters through Tesma’s chest like the tinkling of windchimes. They still can’t believe they’re lucky enough to be with Vaiti, despite the two dragons’ anniversary hovering on the horizon. As they put the finishing touches on their vessel with the rest of their clanmates waiting in the wings, they reflect on the past several years. It’s been incredible. Tesma has always valued their independence, but transforming that into interdependence has been a dream come true. There is so much love in this clan, and the story of its evolution is one the young Mirror loves to recount with all their friends. It’s a tale of finding, gathering, and connecting. In other words, it’s the most generative story of all.

What if Vaiti said ‘no?’ What if ve didn’t like them back? What if ve laughed at them, called them silly, or told them their feelings were wrong?
These were the thoughts that had bounced around inside Tesma’s head on that fateful, anxiety-ridden night. After months of flirting? Maybe? Flirting? They had made the decision to confess their feelings to their friend? Soon to be partner? Lover?
Vaiti was kind, so ve would most likely let Tesma down easy. Still, they should brace themselves for a harsher rejection just in case something went wrong. Just in case they blurted out something silly, or became too much too quickly.
“So what is it you wanted to talk to me about?” asked Vaiti, emerging from around the corner. Ve looked stunning in the fading glow of the firelight. This was back before the clan had found a place to call their own– back when they roved around the continent, seeking out adventure.
“I, um. Well. Uh… and I don’t want this to change anything! I mean, I do, but it doesn’t have to if you don’t want me. It! If you don’t want it to change! I just. Um…” Tesma took a deep breath, wrung their hands together, and looked Vaiti straight in the eye. “IlikeyouVaiti in more than a friend sorta way and I have for a while and if you don’t feel the same it’s really okay and we don’t have to do anything that makes you uncomfort– oof!”
Before they can finish their sentence, Vaiti has wrapped them in a tight hug. Ve headbutts their shoulder, stars in ver eyes. “Tesma. I feel the same way. I’ve felt this way since we met. This is… wow. It’s a dream come true.”
Tesma feels their cheeks heat up as the brightest of smiles appears on their face. Anxiety fades like clouds before the sun. This is it. This is the feeling. With Vaiti, Tesma feels like they’re home.
