If Val and Eve are the unquestioned leadership of the Vultures, Lharil is their heart. Where others must command or intimidate, she only needs to smile to get exactly what she wants. Any other dragon would abuse this formidable power, but Lharil seems too nice for that.

Of course, sweetness and deviousness go hand-in-claw among the Vultures, and Lharil is no exception. Hers takes the form of a keen business sense, and a startlingly accurate instinct for the value of a stolen item.

Possibly the most sinister thing Lharil uses her formidable kindness for is bullying her beloved mate into taking a break once in a while from the intense focus that Val is known for. When it comes to ensuring Val's health and happiness, she'll fight with any weapon at her disposal.

Lharil is somewhat unusual in that she is the only one of the Vultures' leaders that never leaves the Nest. She is content to stay back, keep the books, and keep a fond eye on the other permanent residents in addition to her merry band of fences.

MOTHER DEAR

____Fondly referred to by her fences as "Mother," Lharil is the unquestioned darling of the Vultures. She is seen most of the time as less of a leader and more of a mascot. This doesn't bother her at all, for she knows that she holds the hearts of almost every clan member in her delicate claws, and really, that's all she needs in life. Power? Oh my, yes, she has power. That it is a gentle power doesn't matter at all. She doesn't have to be a fighter to get exactly what she wants, and she is shrewd enough not to let on just how aware she is of the great power she holds. Let Eve and Val play at being in charge. She's quite happy to be the true power behind the throne.

____Thankfully, Lharil has absolutely no malicious intent in her body. Oh, she wants to have power, but she has no desire to wield it to toss out her fellow leaders. Quite the opposite, in fact. She's happy to have them around to run the aspects of the Vultures' business that she has little interest in. Meanwhile, she is perfectly content to be responsible for turning their stolen treasures into gold.'

____With luck, she will never change her mind.

FIGHTING

____It would be difficult to find a worse fighter among the Vultures than Lharil. Every other member of the clan has acquired, somewhere along the line, at least the rudiments of self-defense. But not her. No, her chosen weapon is much more subtle. Why should she fight her own battles when, with little more than a look, she can have five other dragons leaping to her defense? This skill, she has honed to a cutting edge. Most of the Vultures likely don't realize that they would die for Lharil, and the few that do don't seem to mind. She's worth it.

FRIENDS

____Lharil has at least a surface friendship with every single one of the Vultures, with exactly one exception - Mai. The mates of the Vultures' founders have never warmed to each other, though not for lack of trying on Lharil's part. The Guardian's continued coldness is intensely frustrating to her. Thankfully, she's managed to wrap the rest of the clan quite tightly in her bonds of affection to make up for that lack. Her closest friend, of course, is Eve, as she made a concerted effort from the beginning to win over her mate's twin.

FAVORITES

____Any luxury, no matter how small, seems to make its way to Lharil sooner or later. She adores surrounding herself with the softest, the smoothest, the shiniest treasures the Vultures have to offer. From nearly every heist, she takes a cut of whatever she deems most valuable, not necessarily in terms of treasure, but in terms of its ability to make her little den the coziest spot in the Nest. It's only mostly hedonism, though. A little bit of the love of finery comes from the knowledge that it's another weapon in her arsenal when it comes time to tempt Val into a long rest.

FAMILY

____According to her accounting of things, Lharil stumbled into love with Val quite by accident. There's no telling how much calculation on her part was actually involved, but whatever the truth, they are certainly inseparable now. She considers each and every one of her fences to be one of their children, though none of them are truly related, and feels the same, to a lesser degree, about Val's thieves. Though that group doesn't share quite the same affection for her as her own subordinates do, they still look up to her nearly as much as they do to their own boss.
