Inferring from her drawings and pantomimes, she appeared to be an important member of an inter-galactic army, though she has yet to learn their language well enough to truly speak about it with the clan. She mostly spends her time self-isolated, unwilling to try to socialize with the others or explore the new world that she crashed on.
She eventually came out of her shell, if simply out of curiosity. It was a long process, but she's incorporated herself as a member of the Liana Gardens and now helps out by doing research of her own. She seems to have a fixation on physics and chemistry. She understands the dragon's language but cannot form most of the sounds herself, but everybody has picked up her own shorthand and can understand her pretty well.
She does not exactly look like a Sorneith spiral, but the similarity is there. The protruding crystal growths all over her scales are also something of an oddity, but they don't seem to bother Starsplinter at all. She's been able to pass it onto her children, and they don't seem any worse off for it.
