Nobody really knows who Mossflower is or where she came from. What they do know is that she is no ordinary dragon, or really a dragon at all. She can change her location and her physical appearance at will, being a spirit not truly tied to the physical plane. She also seems to know things that she should have no way of finding out.

She just seemed to materialize around the clan's territory one day, though she never revealed herself to anybody from the clan, existing as an odd feeling or a shape in the corner of one's eye. If anybody encountered her in the woods, she would always immediately take the shape of a moss-covered pearlcatcher statue, which seemed to be her default dormant state. She was eventually confronted by a handful of the clan's mages and forced to reveal herself. Now, she functions as a "regular" clanmate, albeit a cryptic omniscient shapeshifting one.

Personality-wise Mossflower is very cheerful and playful, generally not really giving the impression of a powerful nature imp. She likes to teasingly withhold her knowledge from those seeking help from her, though sometimes her lack of understanding of mortals means that she ends up doing this in times where her knowledge is urgently important. Though she's frustrating to try to get anything substantial from, Mossflower is generally well-liked by the clan and will even occasionally be of help.

Not really being a dragon, Mossflower does not bond with a familiar or keep a hoard. She's also incapable of forming proper bonds, so though many would consider her a friend she holds absolutely no attachments to anyone.
