He once loathed his father, Boniface, for not embracing his dark side.
An excursion into The Scarred Wasteland either went horribly wrong or terribly right. Nevertheless he came back stronger for it. Having discovered and fought his own darkness, he now stands with Boniface. Charge is Boneyard.
He has recently developed a peculiar penchant for collecting broken mirrors and clocks... "Tick Tok said the mirror as the clock watched."

He is based off of an artificer character I had in dnd. He lost an arm and a leg in a bet he made with a clockwork serpent that was imprisoned in a magic mirror. It needed a blood sacrifice to escape. The party did end up defeating it and my artificer made artificial limbs out of salvaged parts.
