This dragon is called Sulien - which I got from a random name generator - and is based on the Suriel, who appears in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. Last updated: 10/21/19.

Sulien is more of a murky dragon that can get on edge sometimes, tending to be in the shadows everywhere she goes. If it weren't for Starling, who is more upbeat and enjoys the sunlight, Sulien would probably be hidden in the depths of the lair all day long for hours on end. It's Starling that brings out the best in Sulien.

One day Sulien was a hatchling when Glory came over to her, and claimed that she shouldn't be in the shadows as much as she was already. After all, Glory told her that day, there are shadows everywhere, following everyone around. Even Sulien had a shadow - small as it was, but it would grow to be big as Glory's - or one day, even bigger than that. Sulien was watching Glory attentively when she saw her suddenly tilt her head, and say that there was someone watching them. Starling came in, pretending to be curious. But Glory knew somehow - there was a sort of day-dreamy look over Starling's eyes - that he had taken a liking to her. After that, Glory put Starling and Sulien together, and claimed that they couldn't be separated.

They had to do everything together. At first, Sulien didn't quite know why, but then a few days later she caught Starling fawning over her again, and it was the tenth time in the same day. Sulien knew something was up, so she asked Starling about it - and he confessed to having taken a liking to her, which left Sulien dumbfounded. She thought that she'd knew Starling would say this, as he was always so readable, but it came as a shock to her. She watched, silently, as Starling blinked back at her, waiting for a response. "I- I won't hurt you." Starling said. "Ever." "I don't care." Sulien said, and whacked her talons across his snout. Sulien flew back to Glory, looking angry. She knew all along, Sulien thought. Glory knew and she never told me. Flames spurted out of her snout. However, halfway there, Sulien started reconsidering.

The question was, did she like him? If so, she wouldn't go back to Glory - she should go back immediately. Then she flew back, and realized that the whole ordeal didn't even last five minutes - as Starling was flying after her, and they caught up to each other. "I- I never meant that" Sulien said."That's okay." Starling said, looking at her with that day-dreamy expression in his eyes."So this has been going on for how long? Sulien asked him. "Um- ever since I first saw you." Starling said. Sulien suddenly wondered why it had taken her so long to notice her feelings either."Do you-" Starling started asking her. Sulien interrupted him with a yes. "But I never finished asking you-" Starling said, and yelped as Sulien tackled him to the ground. "If it ever matters that much again," Sulien said, shouting it right in front of Starling's snout, "make sure you tell me. Immediately." "I will." Starling said, quivering slightly.


Together, they flew back to the lair.
