Words are her librarian father's great love, but though she shares his magical talents, numbers are her favored form of expression. Words have too many meanings, in her mind - sometimes they are one thing, sometimes another. Numbers, on the other hand, are constant. Three is always three. Numbers are better at following patterns than words; the latter are constantly breaking the rules, making exceptions. She likes it when things are exact, when magic does exactly what it is supposed to, when spells have their calculated effect and everything goes as planned.

Though she cringes at the thought of improvisation, when given enough time to properly consider the matter, she is an adept problem-solver and can adapt a magical formula to fit most situations. Her magic is strongest when she has had ample preparation - when she has laid out magical circles in advance and computed the precise volume of the spell. She dreads doing magic on the spot, but having a brilliant mathematical mind and being able to do rapid complex calculations in her head see her safely through most situations, even if they leave her shaking and drained afterward.

As a mage she never felt entirely alien in the arcane lands, but she never felt at peace, either. Much changed; little stayed the same, and few of the changes followed patterns or made logical sense. Stories of the consistency of Dragonhome appealed to her, so she convinced some of the clan's earth dragons to draw her a map to their former home in Oakrest, hoping that there she could find both peace and a purpose.
