Yoichi

Yoichi was a rather peculiar member of the clan in the cliffs, having managed to eke out a living in a quite small cave near the top - and closer to the Observatory, where the Arcanist himself worked and explored - and was in turn watched by the light-scaled Imperial below.

He was found as an egg, having fallen down the cliff and landed precariously near the edge of Nyx's nest. After many months of care and nurturing, the bright egg hatched, showing an Imperial who shimmered in the light - and whose eyes were foggy and faded, whose body was shorter than normal with elongated legs, and who tottered around aimlessly, without sight, his fall having stunted his growth somewhat and prevented his eyes from developing correctly.

As he grew alongside his cliff-hanging peers, he slowly learned - with much teaching from the older members of the clan - how to use the Arcanist's powerful magical gift to spread his senses and to feel everything around him, a sort of magical radar. No longer needing to use his defunct eyes, he covered them with a mask carefully woven by the mother who found and raised him, elegantly stitched with magic to extend his power's reach even further.

Soon enough, however, he broke away from the rest, preferring to be alone and avoid the rambunctious center of the clan - for with his senses heightened as they were, the startlingly loud younglings were almost like daggers to the brain.

As of now, he does not contribute much to the clan's day-to-day life - but when a dispute breaks out, he is often on the scene, slinging his spells and finding those who wished to sneak by, as well as being quite useful in the discovery of new spells.

They may have had a rocky start, but the clan was most certainly glad to have found the Light dragon as an egg, blindness and all.
