Hicce

Though lacking in rebellious tendencies, for which her parents are thankful, Hicce is bitter about being the next in line to lead the clan. She has practiced ease with her job, hoard requisitions. While putting her in charge of the band of gatherers was to prepare her for eventual ascent to the title of Leader Proper, the group has become more akin to a band of friends of equal footing.
She is of the opinion that it would be easier to lead by way of counsel, at least so she doesn’t need to decide on each matter by herself.

Her parents have been kept from learning of her distaste for the role of leader, as while she complains of it to her friends, she has had them swear to secrecy. Her mother, she reasons, has enough trouble dealing with the ailing ex-leader; no reason to bother her with the trivialities of a hatchling who mutters in angry tones about not wanting to lead.
Perhaps she ought to bring it up, but she has only known her mother to be strong-willed. With no desire to be proven correct that Noir would ignore her complaints, she continues in her work, waiting to change the power dynamic when her mother retires.
