BIOGRAPHY
In some parts of the Plaguebringer’s lands, it’s not uncommon to see enslaved dragons. Airalt was born a slave in one of these communities. Through a series of unfortunate events involving the death of his parents, a Serthis clan, and different clans selling him over and over, Airalt found himself far from his home, taking care of a clan’s nests. This clan didn’t have any plans to sell him. For nearly a decade it seemed like that would be Airalt’s life. He raised the clan’s hatchlings into capable dragons, and for every one who left his hatchery to join the clan, Airalt added a new layer to his pearl. But it couldn’t last forever. Airalt was in the hatchery one night when he heard screeching and clashing from outside. He started up, unsure what to do, then his pearl flashed red. Airalt watched in horror as the layers upon layers of his pearl, each representing a hatchling who’d grown up healthy, turned a bright, glowing red. The dragons he’d raised were dying. Attackers from a faerie court were tearing up the clan. There was nothing he could do. He didn’t know how to fight. Terrified, Airalt fled - straight into the claws of a faerie attacker, who promptly kidnapped him and took him to her Queen-Mother. The weeks that followed aren’t anything that Airalt likes to remember. He was leered at, laughed at, given a rude introduction to the existence of faerie courts. His pearl slowly faded from bright red to dull crimson. No faerie from that court wanted him as a thrall, and in the end, he was taken to the edge of their territory, injured, and left to die. |
MASTER
Sardothien came across Airalt bleeding out into the snow, saw the odd color of his pearl, and was intrigued. She healed his wounds and enthralled him the moment he opened his eyes. Because of the magic gripping his mind, he’s not scared of her, and because he never saw her enthrall him, he thinks Sardothien is just giving him her protection - possibly temporarily. |
RELATIONSHIPS
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ Airalt is so withdrawn he doesn’t have relationships with any dragon other than Sardothien, and occasionally, one of the hatchlings under his care before Sardothien takes charge of them in their third week. He never sees the hatchlings again after that. He’s too scared to ask what happens to them. So, even though Airalt still adds a new layer to his pearl every time a hatchling is taken by Sardothien, slowly covering the red with crystal white, he tries not to form bonds with the little half-faerie dragons. |
