A full team includes three physical fighters and one magic-based as back-up for higher levels. There's an achievement that requires 'anticipate', but it's not useful in a main team as gathering breath slows you down. To enter the coliseum dragons must be named, well-fed adults but there's more to consider when assembling a team.

✪ Dragon Breed : Hungry dragons are weaker. Fainting in coli affects hunger levels. If you have trouble stocking a food-type avoid breeds that depend on it in your team!
✪ Battle Stones : Dragons come equipped with two battle stones, which two depends on breed. Any stone can be replaced and starter stones aren't expensive so if you want an all-tundra team, don't let this stop you!

✪ Love it or leave it: Pick dragons you like! Building a team requires lots of time and treasure, be sure you don't invest all of that into a dragon you're only half-hearted about.
✪ Dragon Flight : Each flight has different vulnerabilities. It's best to have a mix of flights on a team to balance strengths and weaknesses. Arcane and Water are good in higher venues, which is where this will be most noticeable.

__ There are lots of ways to stat a team, experiment! A Tincture of Dissolution costs 30kt in the marketplace and will reset a dragon's skills. Guides are linked further on, but for a quick-start here's a good strategy:

__ ✦ Begin with your three physical fighters. This is your main team! Since they don't have to gather breath they're fast, which means you can win more fights in less time.

__ ✦ Stat two according to the first build in Culex's Guide, recommended for loot farming. They're great for grinding but can also level one dragon at a time in Kelp Beds.

__ ✦ Stat the third following Culex's Mire-build. This dragon can grind, and also level two dragons in the Mire or Ghostlight Ruins. Even if you don't plan to train dragons this build is recommended to keep your options open. If you participate in Dominance this will be your Trainer!

__ If finances get tight concentrate on stoning one dragon at a time. Buying pricier stones for one dragon is often a better investment than a team fully equipped with lesser stones. You will hear this very often on this site:
__Eliminates are expensive, but they pay for themselves!

__ You can also swap your Mirer for your Mage. Magic-based dragons are cheaper to stone and become useful very quickly. They're not recommended for grinding as gathering breath slows you down, but in higher levels a mage is an asset!

__ Arcane has Level 25 Rentals, and a Battle Stone Bank! You can also hire people to train your dragons by checking out the 'items for sale' forum. Remember : some of the best battle stones drop most often in the lower levels. Split your time between training your team and grinding. You can sell your loot and buy battle stones with the profit!

In a stack of 99: 200 X 99 = 19,800. Not a bad haul!

Dominance is a weekly challenge that awards perks such as:
_✪ More gathering turns per day
_✪ Additional treasure bonus per day
_✪ Treasure Marketplace discounts
_✪ Lair Expansion discounts

The only way to win dominance is to exalt dragons. These dragons leave their lair permanently to assist their clan's deity, for Arcane that's the Arcanist (aka Spacedad). They're often referred to as 'fodder'.

Any dragon in your lair can be exalted, even hatchlings. Don't panic! A confirmation window appears before a dragon leaves the clan. You'll receive treasure based on the dragon's level, with a chance of a gem bonus.

Level fodder for a bigger payout. The fastest way is for a 'trainer' to train fodder in the higher venues.

You don't have to exalt dragons to support Arcane during a push! There are lots of ways to help, read on!

The Stigma of Exalting

FR encourages creative gameplay and so hasn't offered a precise explanation for exalting. The only official lore is that an exalted dragon goes to serve its deity in some way. This allows freedom in interpretation. The idea that it's equivalent to death since the dragon's no longer active and has 'joined its deity' is fair, but not necessarily true. Many players believe exalted dragons join the fight The Shade, help the Arcanist with experiments, or have lore unique to their clan. Most dominance pushes offer special lore about where the dragons are headed!

Pushes happen monthly but each type of push has a different goal :

_✯ Profit Push : Aims to make money as a flight. Nothing is spent that cannot be made back through exalting fodder.
_✯ Conquest Push : Strives to top the dominance chart! No matter the cost.
_✯ Event Pushes : Goals differ by event but are often Quests aimed to prepare Arcane for Conquest by acquiring battle stones, funds, and practice.
_✯ Surprise Apocalypse : unique to Arcane. Aims to see how high up the dominance chart we can climb in a short period of time (1-3 days) with little notice.

A successful push involves more than just exalting fodder! There are different ways to help, each crucial to victory! It can be as social or as solitary as you like. These are just a few roles:

ABBA is always open. Receive reminders for when to breed fodder, or choose to dorm: fodder, permies, and anything in between, and earn treasure for your services. This is a great way to support Arcane for those who aren't sure if exalting is for them. Rent space or breed fodder to help your fellow Arcanites even when there's no push.

DORMING FOR ARCANE DOMINANCE

D.A.D. is active only around dominance events. They aim to encourage dorming through benefits, celebrations and rewards, on top of standard dorming fees. Dorming is a crucial part of a successful dom push and D.A.D aims to celebrate this role. They're primarily geared towards encouraging pre-levelling, but offer all dorming types.

_SOLO_

The Bounty Hunters Guild offers the flexibility of solo training without missing out on a sense of community and camaraderie. Earn ranks and badges by participating in dom pushes. Now offers monthly challenges and raffles.

_TEAM_

Join a small team (2-5) for short term (one push) or long-term (2+). Decide within your group the roles you'd like, or simply train together for morale support, all while earning badges! Now with contests and mini-goals!
