"If there is a limit to how far I would go for you all, I have yet to find it." ___________________________________________✧✧ If anyone were to find the most compassionate dragon in the Compass, stone-faced tough-as-nails Solarsail would not be their first pick. And yet, behind his cool demeanour lies a caring soul who would do anything to keep his loved ones safe, no matter what it takes. But being kind does not always equal being sweet. Solarsail has no issue with sneaking in a quip or two while comforting a friend, though it's usually meant in jest (and tends to fly under the radar, since they're always uttered in his deep, formal voice). This is only truly done with those he trusts implicitly, though: to strangers and acquaintances he's always been like a particularly protective statue, never saying or emoting much (he does care about them more than they could fathom, though, even if they never notice. they may not be his charge but they are kin as long as they share walls). He has a tendency to go a bit far in his protectiveness though, always putting himself in harm's way for others, even at the cost of his own life. Solarsail has gained many scars over the years from wounds that couldn't be fully healed in time and he takes a certain pride in them, even if his teammate won't stop scolding him for it. You're just as bad as Diamond she'd mutter, grabbing bandages all the while. You know you could've just moved to the side, right? And he'd try to explain that the wayward spear could've hit people, and she'd look at him with one brow raised. The only one around was Diamond and she was the thrower she'd explain slowly, clearly trying to hold back a groan of frustration. Who could it have even hit aside from you!? And though his expression remained neutral and his body stayed perfectly still while she applied the bandages, she could've recognised his sheepishness from miles away. I... apologise, Swirl. His normally resounding voice was reduced to a whisper. You don't have to apologise to me. Just... you shouldn't jump in front of every attack just because someone could get hurt. I don't want you to get hurt, even if it's for your Charge. Now get out there and take it easy for once, alright? ...Alright. |
